Loaded Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
I'm assuming I must have done something wrong (like overcooked the potatoes maybe?) because mine were a rubbery chewy mess! Good flavor though, just not sure I'd make these again especially in the microwave.

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
The flavor of the sauce is wonderful, but I bought some chops that were on the thin side so they turned out a little dry. I'll definately try again though with some thicker chops. Thanks!

This is a good recipe. It will not set your gourmet mind atwitter, but it will make the teens in your life quite happy.

Divine Hard-Boiled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
I have been using this method of hard boiling eggs for years. I only let them sit for 13 minutes in the hot water and they always turn out perfectly. I don't usually boil a dozen at a time so that may account for the difference in timing. Using this method there will be no more green ring or rubbery white.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
This was a great recipe. I made it as directed and it was great. The second time I used "Wilton's Butter Flavoring" instead of vanilla and it was amazing! You can get the butter flavoring at any craft store in the cake decorating section. I only used pre made plasticy nasty one before. I will always use this one from now on.

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
I followed the recipe Exactly & they were great, I will try Parchment paper next time as opposed to foil (had a hard time removing them)...and I might try less Milk to cut the sweetness next time, Otherwise they were GREAT!!! Boyfriend Loved them & ate almost the whole batch the first night!

Gingerbread Boys

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
We had fun with these Gingerbread Boys! We personalized all the cookies when we decorated them and became attached to them, which made us hesitant to eat them. But, as you can guess, we overcame that obstacle rather quickly--they were delicious, may they rest in peace.

Made to go in Christmas gift baskets. Not much of a drinker myself but did try some before giving away and it seemed very good!

Taco Pies

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
This can be improved greatly by getting rid of the pie shells and use large burrito size flour tortillas. Just spray the with olive oil and bake in the oven at 350 for 10". Prepare the meat with some real seasonings. I added 1 can of diced green chilies, 1 can of sliced olives, 1 chopped tomato and then al the seasonings such as Cumin seeds, onions and whatever else you like. Add the beans, sprinkle on Jack Cheese. Put the meat mix on top sprinkle on more cheese and bake for 35". Serve with shredded cabbage or shredded iceberg lettuce. Have toppings of avocado, green onions, Pico d Gallo. Really good.

Apple Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
Awww.. These were soooo good! I wish my kids liked them. My only advice is to shred up the apple if you have picky eaters b/c my one son liked it till he saw an apple piece and than didn't touch them. My husband said they tasted good but he also didn't cake for the apple chunks so I'm not giving up on this recipe b/c I really REALLY enjoyed them, I'm just going to grate the apple next time. And the crumb topping was to die for! It went perfect w/ these muffins! I followed the recipe exactly and it was great! THANKS!!!

E-Z Marinated Swordfish

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
This recipe was great! I literally just finished eating and thought I would write my praises on here :) I would have liked a little more kick, so next time I will double the hot pepper - and maybe try some garlic like another reviewer did. I also didn't have any thyme or parsley, but it was still fine without them. Had it with Roasted Garlic and Olive Oil couscous. DELISH!
