Atlanta, Georgia

From the Civil War, through the Civil Rights movement, to its current unofficial title of "Capital of the New South," Atlanta has grown into one of the largest and most influential cities in the United States. The culinary traditions of Atlanta are greatly informed by its location in the heart of the American southeast, as well as its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and its status as a destination for people relocating from Louisiana. Locals and visitors to Atlanta will have their choice of great barbeque, soul food, seafood, Cajun food, and Creole cuisine. Perhaps Atlanta's most notable contribution to the world of food and beverage came in 1886 when Dr. John S. Pemberton invented what has become the world's most popular soft drink, Coca-Cola.

Go Blue! Michigan Grad living in Atlanta. Huge football and Hockey fan. Go Wings. Also have three dogs and a cat in the family, in addition to my partner. Biggest pet peeve: cooks on all recipes who change a recipe significantly, then rate the recipe poorly when it does not work out. Keep ratings to the actual recipe unless your changes IMPROVE the result. (Stepping down from soap box now)

Low-Fat Corn Bread

The BF and I thought this was pretty good. Of course it wasn't as good as full fat rich buttery corn bread but what can you expect ? For a low-fat recipe I thought this was very good.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed on Jan. 2, 2009 by bex
Mine never set before I had to serve it, I left it in the oven for way more time than the recipe called for and it still came out runny. I let it set for 30 more minutes to no avail. It was runny but also delicious. I would make this pie well ahead of time. Once it set (and I ate it the next day), it was Incredible
