Movie Star Popcorn

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
I've been making this all summer before I finally submitted a review. It is delicious. I use coconut oil and usually only about 2 Tbsp, and I'm using blue popcorn that I got at the farmers market. This may take a couple minutes longer than the microwave, but it's far superior in taste and worth the extra time! It's very easy, and it really is fabulous. Brought back great memories from my childhood.

Praline Strips

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
I've been making a recipe like this for many years, and it always turns out perfect. But here are a few tips from my experiences...I do not use margarine, I use only real butter--the flavor is much better. And they must be baked until they are a deep golden brown in order to not be sticky and to have that nice crunch--I've found that's about 20 minutes for my oven. 10 minutes has never been long enough for mine. The topping needs to be poured as evenly as possible across the crackers (I usually pour thin streams back and forth in all directions)...it will then settle nicely into an even layer when it bakes. They are delicious, and they are always a hit when I make them. I have used only graham crackers for mine, so I can't rate the club crackers.

Chicken Wing Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
I made this for some friends Saturday, and it was a big hit. I used blue cheese instead of ranch and also used more chicken than called for, however I think next time I will stick to the 2 cups as this was a little thick with the extra. I also made in the crockpot because we'd be snacking all evening. Great recipe!

PHILLY Creamy Rice, Chicken and Spinach Dinner

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
I decided to try this because it sounded good to me. My husband wasn't too thrilled to try it because of all the spinach and tomatoes but absolutely loved it once he tried it. I used less spinach because it wouldn't all fit into my skillet. I also used a different dressing than called for: KRAFT tuscan italian. The commissary here didn't carry the other kind. It still came out fabulous. My husband scarfed it down and complimented it over and over. Great recipe.

Microwavable Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
Fudge is usually my nemesis. I can't make fudge for the life of me. However, I had success with this recipe! Very easy, I melted my marshmallows and stired them in with the fudge then topped with butterscotch chips. Delish! Will definately make again.

Horseshoe

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
This was just ok for us. I deviated from the recipe only to add a dash of garlic and worcestershire sauce to the cheese sauce, and I used sharp cheddar. I did serve with sauteed mushrooms, onions, and peppers, also. It just seems to be lacking in something, and it's a lot of effort to put into something that's mediocre for our tastes. It was fun to try, though.
