Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
Very easy to follow and super easy to make. Was pretty tasty too, just too closly resembled a thick creamy gravy.

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
Low Carb version I made used Calorie Countdown milk (1/2 cup instead of whole cup), no soy sauce (high blood pressure), crushed pork rinds and dehydrated chopped onions in place of the French's french fried onions. For me, tasted just about the same...

Italian Kale

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
This was good but I was a bit overwhelmed by the pockets of garlic. It was difficult to distribute the minced garlic evenly throughout the kale at the point of insertion in the recipe. I'll try again, maybe this time mixing the oil, vinegar and garlic together before pouring into the pan to see if it distributes better.

Amish Cinnamon Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
I didn't have raisins or pecans, but I did have banana. I cut up one honey crisp and threw it in with one diced banana. I made no other changes to this recipe. Smells great. This will be a gift for friends, so I'll update my review when I know how they liked it.

Cottage Cheese Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
I made this using my Kitchen Aid mixer last night, same as I have with the other loaves I have recently. I let the yeast proof with the sugar and water, then added the remaining wet ingredients. After I added the dry and they had a chance to fully combine, I switched to my dough hook and kneaded the dough for about five minutes. It was a little wet, so I added a bit more flour to get it to a kneadable consistancy. I let it raise in the bread pan for about an hour on a warm stove, then baked it for a half hour. We haven't tried it yet, but I'll update on how it was later today.

Mashed Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
This was good but I guess I'm not an instant potato person. I would use real potatoes if I made this again. I did use the hint and topped with fried onion rings and it was a great idea.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
Very tasty meat and wonderful gravy. Hard to go wrong with this one. I did brown my meat first - just always a personal preference for me when using slow cooker and used half beef broth and half the water.

Teena's Spicy Pesto Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
This was amazing! I added two minced cloves of garlic to the chicken while it was cooking, and half a minced shallot. Nearly doubled the chili sauce as we like it spicy! When the chicken was nearly done I added a chopped zucchini and half a chopped green pepper for added nutrition. Served with pine nuts on top and shredded parmesan cheese. Delicious!

Christmas Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
I used slivered almonds and white chocolate chips in this bread. I also added a little allspice to make it more festive and sprinkled the top with brown sugar and cinnamon. This'll make a nice gift for Christmas.

Banana Cake V

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
I doubled this, cut out a little of the sugar and used plain yogurt in place of the sour cream. I added just a little allspice and on the top, I sprinkled some brown sugar and just a touch cinnamon. These smell wonderful. These will be gifts for friends of mine, but I'll update as to how they liked them soon.

I thought this was really good- boyfriend liked it too. I made it with spaghetti sauce so I don't know it's full potential- will try again with pizza sauce!
